Abstract

In concrete structures, durability is significantly reduced when external agents penetrate the pores of the cement composite, causing structural deterioration, increasing maintenance needs, and shortening the structure's lifespan. One way to reduce concrete permeability and prevent reinforcement corrosion is by using cement with a high content of pozzolanic materials, such as CP IV cement. Recently, electrical resistivity has gained attention as a cost-effective and non-destructive method for evaluating the interconnected porosity of concrete, which is also reflected in compressive strength. Therefore, the objective of this project is to investigate the influence of cement type on electrical resistivity, slump, and compressive strength, and to relate these findings to the durability of structures.
