Abstract

Studying the stellar populations of galaxies provides valuable information about theirformation, evolution and structure. By analyzing the spectral characteristics of galaxies,we can extract important information about the ages, metallicities and star formationhistories of their stellar populations. In this project we will develop a tool to simulate thephotometry of multiband surveys, such as S-PLUS, based on spectral energy distributionlibraries of simple stellar populations, adopting a dense base of simulated star formationhistories. This project is part of a larger project that aims to develop and apply aSimulation Based Inference approach to studying stellar populations based on S-PLUSphotometry. This technique uses simulations of the data to infer physical properties bycombining observations and simulations.
