Abstract

This project aims to develop a robust statistical model to predict carbon stocks in forests. Forest carbon stocks play a fundamental role in mitigating climate change, and adequate statistical modeling is essential for accurately estimating the amount of carbon stored in forests. The project will be grounded in a literature review and apply statistical techniques to model the relationship between environmental variables, variables associated with plant characteristics, and forest carbon stocks. The expected results will provide reliable estimates of carbon stocks, supporting decision-making in sustainable forest management and climate change mitigation efforts.
