Abstract

This project has two main objectives: (1) to trace the global history of the constitutional diffusion of social and economic rights, identifying moments that triggered diffusion waves, and from there, (2) to examine in greater depth the diffusion of these rights in Latin America, under the contexts of the "new Latin American constitutionalism" and Bolivarian constitutionalism. This project advances the emerging field of constitutional diffusion studies by proposing a method that, drawing on an original database, enables the empirical analysis of the occurrence of this phenomenon.
