Abstract

The research aims to develop an agent-based macroeconomic model to analyze the effects of climate shocks on commodity sectors and to test policies aimed at reducing economic volatility. It includes the analysis of time series data from the Brazilian economy, the modeling of sectors such as electricity and agriculture, and the proposal of economic policies to mitigate climate impacts. The model will be calibrated and validated using machine learning techniques. By developing this model to assess the impacts of climate change on socioeconomic variables, the proposal integrates two strategic areas of the Research Center for Artificial Intelligence - Brazilian Institute of Data Science (BI0S): the Methods track and the Agro track.
