Abstract

Temporary prostheses must have satisfactory physical, chemical and mechanical properties for the clinical longevity of rehabilitation treatments. With the increasingly frequent use of additive manufacturing (3D printing) in dentistry, evaluating the properties of resins for printing as a function of different processing parameters is essential for obtaining better results. The aim of this study will be to evaluate the influence of different post-curing times on the physical and mechanical properties of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) used in the 3D printing of temporary crowns. The samples, measuring 9 mm in diameter x 2 mm thick, will be obtained using the DLP method: Digital Light Processing with priZma 3D BioProv, a proprietary resin for making provisionals, and will be post-processed at different post-curing times (5, 10 and 15 minutes). Evaluations will be carried out using: (1) degree of conversion (n=3); (2) surface hardness (n=10) and (3) surface roughness (n=10). After checking the distribution of the data, parametric or non-parametric tests will be applied, with a significance level of 5%.
