Abstract

This project aims to analyze the degree of sustainability of the European Union (EU) Circular Economy Action Plan, published in 2020. As specific objectives, it is intended to identify and analyze the economic, social and ecological aspects present in the plan; as well as to correlate such aspects in order to understand the degree of sustainability of the plan. It is a qualitative, exploratory research, whose technical procedure will first be done through the content analysis of the document A new Action Plan for the Circular Economy - For a cleaner and more competitive Europe. Once the analysis is done, the derived inferences will be tested through interviews, via the internet, with researchers from France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Portugal, who study the European Union's Circular Economy policy. A priori, 2 researchers will be chosen per country, totaling 10 researchers. The analysis is based on the assumption that the EU action plan emphasizes more economic aspects to the detriment of ecological and social aspects, in order to strengthen the bloc's economic competitiveness in the global market.
