Abstract

The aim of this research project is to analyze Ana Carolina's trilogy of films Mar de rosas, Das tripas coração and Sonho de valsa, in which the female figure occupies a central place. The main aim of the research is to understand how the three films constructed images of women on screen in Brazil in the 1970s and 1980s, taking into account the socio-political context of the dictatorship and the feminist movement that was resurgent in the country at the time. The aim is to establish connections between the construction of female figures in the films and the issues of the feminist movement emerging in the country at that time. In this sense, the film analysis of the trilogy will be conducted using the phenomenon of transposition, as proposed by Sorlin (1985).
