Abstract Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain syndrome that manifests in various ways, including symptoms such as musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, sleep disturbances, anxiety, depression, and cognitive issues, significantly impacting the quality of life of those affected. The etiology of fibromyalgia is multifactorial, and there is no definitive cure. Therefore, its treatment requires comprehensive, multidisciplinary, and multimodal therapeutic approaches, primarily aimed at improving quality of life, managing pain, and adopting non-pharmacological strategies. In this context, pain education should be utilized as an important part of the treatment for these individuals, as it contributes to better adherence to treatment and prognosis, promotes understanding of their condition, reduces fear, and encourages behavioral changes, potentially having a positive impact on overall quality of life. However, what still needs exploration is the effort to bridge the gap between knowledge of the benefits and the practice of pain education. The main objective of this study is to develop and validate educational narratives about pain for patients with fibromyalgia through collaboration between professionals and patients. This aims to ensure that the materials are of high quality and tailored to the reality of those living with fibromyalgia, making them suitable for use. | |
