Abstract

This proposal aims to advance the postdoctoral research project: "How does automation affect talent allocation?" through collaboration with Prof. Bruno Delalibera at the University of Barcelona. The research focuses on the development and calibration of a general equilibrium model to examine the effects of automation on talent allocation, demand for skills, and economic growth. The collaboration with Prof. Delalibera aims to make improvements to the general equilibrium model, which include incorporating networks of intermediate goods, inserting a production function with variable elasticity of substitution, a framework that allows for labor migration between regions, and optimizing the model's algorithm in C++. This collaboration is vital for theoretical and computational advances, strengthening the ties between the University of São Paulo and the University of Barcelona, while expanding the scientific impact of the project.
