Abstract

Accelerated soil erosion is observed in several regions of the world, largely linked to the lack of environmental planning regarding land use. In locations where the terrain exhibits weaknessesnatural conditions, the processes linked to erosion degradation can become even greater, as isobserved in the study area of this work. Located in the interior of the state of São Paulo, the catchment of Cabeça river has a large part of the land used for agropastoral activities, with the presence of the cuestas relief. In this way, in order to evaluate the anthropic impact on the relief in an area with the presence of cuestiform relief, the objective of the research is to evaluate the advances in erosive processes and their impact on depositional processes at different scales of analysis, investigating the main anthropogenic factors that alter the intensity of such processes. For that, cartographic materials will be prepared based on geomorphological and land use cartography ofdifferent scenarios, morphometric mapping, lineaments and organization of lithological dataand pedological, on a scale of 1:10,000, for selected sub-basins, and 1:50,000 for the entire basin. Furthermore, sediments will be collected from the bottom of the valley in the catchment studied, in order to observe the behavior of sedimentation rates associated with land use in different scales over time. In this way, with the application of the proposed methodology, it is expected identify the main anthropic impacts in the study area, contributing to management andenvironmental planning.
