Abstract

Traditional methods for the construction and increase in complexity of organic molecules are mostly based on the manipulation of functional groups considered reactive, such as carbonyls, alcohols, amines, and halogenated groups. In contrast, nature routinely uses methods to directly oxidize C-H bonds, installing oxidized functionalities directly into the carbon skeleton of complex molecules without the need for pre-functionalization. Thus, the development of catalytic methods for the oxidation of C-H bonds presents a series of advantages, such as increased synthetic efficiency.Despite the advances achieved to date, for the oxidation of C-H bonds to reach its full potential, a series of challenges still need to be understood. Therefore, we propose to investigate, in this work, the selectivity in oxidation reactions catalyzed by palladium and directed by oximes of aliphatic and aromatic C-H bonds.
