Abstract

The kallikrein system (KKS) has been studied in inflammatory processes, with special attention to kidney damage in addition to blood pressure control. However, the central role of kinin B1 and B2 receptors is little known. In order to spatially identify the expression of SCC components indifferent nuclei of the hypothalamus we will use fluorescent in situ hybridization (RNAscope) in male and female mice. This approach will allow the identification of SCC components indifferent nuclei of the hypothalamus. A floxed B1 animal is being generated in collaboration with Germany and we will use it to generate B1 animals deficient in specific tissue using the Cre-loxP technique. We thus aim to combine the RNAscope technique and genetically modified animals (Cre-LoxP system) to identify possible neuronal and/or glial phenotypes.
