Abstract

This research will be developed within the scope of the teletandem project (TELLES; VASSALO, 2006) and seeks to carry out an investigation focused on the circulation of literary texts in this environment and its importance for the training of Portuguese language teachers. Teletandem is a virtual exchange context, in which two speakers (native or proficient) of different languages come together to learn each other's language, and also to teach the language in which they are proficient, through regular sessions of conversation (TELLES, 2009). In this context, the circulation of literary texts has proven to be quite fruitful and relevant to foster enriching, constructive and critical intercultural discussions, as well as for Portuguese language teachers in training to mobilize their linguistic, literary and pedagogical knowledge acquired throughout their undergraduate studies (SILVA , 2023). Therefore, this project aims to investigate how Literature students approach literature in teletandem interactions with their peers in order to highlight the literariness of the texts. To this end, this research will be based on studies from basically two theoretical perspectives: a literary one (CANDIDO, 2006; 2011; COSSON, 2020; CULLER, 1995; JAKOBSON, 1983; 2010) and an intercultural one (KRAMSCH; HUA, 2016; KRAMSCH, 2011; 2017). Data will be collected in mediation sessions and teletandem interactions between students at a Brazilian university and students at an American university. We consider that this research can generate important reflections on the relationships between literature, culture and language, as well as demonstrating the contributions of teletandem literature to the training of Portuguese language teachers.
