Abstract

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a prevalent disease associated with negative impacts on quality of life and cardiovascular health. Maxillomandibular advancement (MMA) has been proposed as an effective alternative to CPAP for patients with moderate to severe OSA. This umbrella review aims to synthesize evidence on the efficacy and safety of MMA by analyzing systematic reviews and meta-analyses. The methodology includes searching relevant databases, critically evaluating studies using AMSTAR-2 and GRADE tools, and qualitative analysis of the findings. The aim is to consolidate knowledge on the benefits of MMA and guide future clinical guidelines for the treatment of OSA. (AU)
