Abstract

Crop combinations in a no-tillage system are not yet well established for degraded pasture environments. In this context, the objective will be to evaluate the SPAD value, dry biomass production, nitrogen concentration in the shoot and grain production of off-season maize after intercropping maize with Crotalaria (Crotalaria spectabilis) in the summer. The experimental design will be randomized blocks with four replications. The treatments will consist of: 1) single summer maize - single off-season maize and 2) summer maize intercropped with Crotalaria - single off-season maize. The dry biomass evaluations will be performed at the time of flowering and physiological maturity of the off-season maize. The nitrogen concentration and grain production will be determined at the time of physiological maturity of the off-season maize. The treatments will be compared by the Tukey test and the significance level adopted for the analysis of variance will be 5%.
