Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been increasingly integrated into dental practice, assisting in diagnosis and treatment planning. However, patient perception of this technology remains largely unexplored, especially after direct interaction with imaging diagnostic software. This study aims to evaluate patients' perspectives after using the Allisone software, which aids dental diagnosis through the segmentation of radiographic structures. Patients from the Integrated Dental Clinic at the Faculty of Dentistry of Ribeirão Preto (FORP-USP) will be recruited and will have their diagnoses presented in two stages: initially through the traditional method and later with the support of the Allisone software. After this experience, participants will complete a validated questionnaire assessing their perception of AI's accuracy, trustworthiness, and usefulness in dental diagnosis. The collected data will be statistically analyzed, comparing different demographic variables and participants' prior knowledge of AI. The expected results will provide relevant insights into how patients perceive AI use in dentistry, contributing to its effective and ethical implementation. (AU)
