Abstract

Introduction: Bruxism is a disorder characterized by clenching or grinding of the teeth that can end up affecting the occlusal morphology. In line with it, sleep apnea syndrome (SAS) is closely related and can develop in children, and both are interconnected with aspects of quality of life, genetics and emotional factors.Objectives: To correlate bruxism with sleep apnea, as well as its symptoms and prevalence in children, also seeking to understand possible causes and treatments.Methodology: In the development of this work, searches for reviews, meta-analyses and systematic reviews related to the proposed theme will be carried out, using the PubMed, BVS and Scielo platforms, with the following specific descriptors: ("Bruxism"; "Children". "Sleep Apnea"). The studies found on the relationship between bruxism and sleep apnea in children will be surveyed and analyzed.
