Abstract

The present research project aims to investigate how sexual orientation is related to the integration of LGBTQIAPN+ individuals into the Brazilian labor market. The research hypothesis is that there are discriminatory effects related to sexual orientation in the country's labor market. This topic is still under-researched; therefore, the study seeks to contribute to the body of research on the inclusion of this population in Brazilian society. The research will rely on official data from the Pesquisa Nacional de Saúde - 2019 (National Health Survey - 2019), which, for the first time in Brazil, presents specific questions about sexual orientation in official data. It is based on this survey due to the absence of other data in the PNADC - Pesquisa Nacional de Amostra de Domicílio Contínua (Continuous National Household Sample Survey) and the 2022 Census, which indicate the invisibility of the LGBTQIAPN+ community. The importance of such studies lies in addressing the lack of data, which is crucial for the implementation of specific public policies for this historically marginalized group. To this end, the research aims to provide preliminary results, analyze the Brazilian labor market more broadly, and promote discussion about the inclusion of this population in Brazilian society. (AU)
