Abstract

The use of Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) for asset traceability in supply chains is already a reality, with multiple commercial solutions deployed in agribusiness. These platforms focus mainly on managing physical and digital assets, along with issuing cryptographic certificates at various stages of the production chain. Recent integration with IoT (Internet of Things) devices has further enhanced data reliability (EU Blockchain).The next evolution involves adding a decentralized business layer powered by smart contracts and crypto tokens, enabling automated financial transactions in line with Web 3.0 principles and the tokenization of the economy. This project proposes an agribusiness traceability solution designed to increase autonomy, security, and trust for small and mid-sized farmers-particularly in high-value-added supply chains. Implementation will occur within the Agrotechnological Districts of CCD/AD ("Centro de Ciência para o Desenvolvimento da Agricultura Digital / Semear Digital"), supporting the growth of emerging digital markets in the sector. The core goal is to develop a decentralized transactional model combining smart contracts and crypto tokens, seamlessly integrated with an agribusiness traceability platform.
