Abstract

This work is part of Phase 1 of the CCDB-TAEBS project, aiming to identify the needs and knowledge gaps of teachers working with deaf students. The proposal includes the development of interactive games designed to teach Portuguese as a second language, with an emphasis on the comic strip discourse genre, targeting deaf students supported by CEPRE/UNICAMP. Initially, a profile of the students will be gathered through classroom observations and analysis of previously used materials, in order to understand language practices and identify specific needs. Following this, a diagnosis of the students' written Portuguese proficiency will be conducted, based on their productions in the comic strip genre, allowing the identification of linguistic and structural difficulties. Based on this data, educational games will be developed to address aspects such as the use of verbs, nouns, and the construction of direct and indirect speech. These games will be tested with the students to evaluate accessibility, clarity, and pedagogical effectiveness.
