Abstract

This research project's objective is to reflect upon the poetics of ecstasy by Néstor Perlongher, considering the collection of the poet and anthropologist about the experience of the ecstasy and psychoactive Ayahuasca's drink. The aspects to be covered are: a) Ayahuasca as an agent (professor plant); b) tensions between ecstatic experience and religious doctrine, given his experience with Saint Daime; and c) the dialogue with shamanism, due to the amazonian and indigenous origin of the drink. In light of these elements, the methodological theoretical perspective adopted follows the ontological turn, derived from the dialogues between Literature Theory, Translation Studies and Anthropology. For such, along with a critical review regarding the ecstasy in the Perlogherean's poetics - and in his overall references - this work stitches reflections about notions such as agencies, ontological encounters and equivocation - this last one derived from the amerindian perspectivism. As a result, this work will provide contributions to the field study due to its theoretical debates whose goal is to erase conceptual tools commonly used in academic works through the study of the poetics of ecstasy by Perlongher.
