Abstract

This Ph.D. research project focuses on understanding the properties of minimal models for magic angletwisted bilayer graphene (MATBLG). MATBLG exhibits unique electronic properties due to the presence offlat bands and extended states, making it an intriguing platform for studying correlated electron systems. The project aims to investigate different Anderson-like models related to the "topological heavy fermionmodel" recently proposed by Song and Bernevig aiming to reconcile the localized and extended states withinthe electronic structure. Techniques such as Dynamical Mean Field Theory (DMFT) and the NumericalRenormalization Group (NRG) will be utilized to analyze the behavior of these models. (AU)
