Abstract

This project proposes a reading and analysis of the transit between poem and chronicle, verse and prose, in the writing of Alfonsina Storni. Building on previous findings, the research corpus focuses on her publications of prose poems and chronicles intended for newspapers and magazines, covering the entirety of the writer's trajectory from 1916 to 1938. A methodological perspective in motion of declassification (Sabo, 2017) is presented, which emerges from and engages with texts that have thus far been marginalized, predominantly published in newspapers and magazines. Thus, for a comparative reading, the relationship between chronicle and poem is considered, traversed by her trajectory in the press and the aesthetic and experimental possibilities, the representations of gender in the early twentieth century, the self-figurations of women, their limits and openings, as well as their reverberations and echoes.
