Abstract

The series "São Paulo", by photographer Claudia Andujar, is made up of a set of two photos dated 1974 and six dated 2014, which portray the city of the same name. In the 1970s, Andujar, with his camera, flew over buildings and constructions, focusing on the immensity of concrete present in the capital of São Paulo. In the 2010s, the images were produced by superimposing several previous photos, proposing an urban visuality of intertwining and less explicit figures. Starting from this imagery set, this research proposes to investigate the urban experience raised by the photographer's work in this series, thinking about the specificities present in each photograph and the relationship between them, taking into account the technical and artistic resources that corroborate the creation of this São Paulo of images. Thus, we will start from Visual Anthropology to build our relationship with photos, delving into questions about the urban, modernity and the performance of and in the city. (AU)
