Abstract

The present research project, with a theoretical-conceptual approach, intends to conduct a table of sexuation's systematic analysis, as introduced by Jacques Lacan in The Seminar, Book XX: Encore (1975). We aim to investigate the table of sexuation's underlying assumptions to argue in favor of the lacanian aphorism surrounding the non-existence of the sexual relationship, considering the role played by the phallic mediation into the addressing between the two sexuated positions fixated in his teachings. In such a manner, the aforementioned analysis must incorporate concepts situated within other moments of his work, essential to the given theme's profound understanding. Throughout the research, we will revise the oedipus complex as a structuring process of the unconscious subject, describing phallic jouissance's current manifestations in the two table of sexuation's terms, and investigating the not-all phallic subject's division between jouissance and language.
