Abstract

This project aims to synthesize, densify and investigate the ferroic and multiferroic properties in single-phase magnetoelectric systems based on the solid solution of Bi5FeTi3O15 (BFT4) modified with barium. The systems will be developed from the synthesis of powders and sintering of ceramic bodies by conventional and unconventional routes to their complete investigation of properties (structural, microstructural, electrical, dielectric and magnetic) as a function of the barium concentration, aiming to understand the effects resulting from lattice deformation and the emergence of vacancies on the properties of interest of the BFT4 system. Processes for optimizing the microstructural and electrical properties of the specimens will be investigated with a view to enabling the characterization of the ferroic and multiferroic properties.
