Abstract

In Brazil, where 30% of the territory is classified as arable land, pesticide pollution is one of the main challenges to achieving a sustainable agribusiness model. On the other hand, there is a lack of information and knowledge regarding the impacts of residual pesticides in water and soil. Added to this is the sector's contribution to plastic consumption and the resulting pollution. The combination of pesticide contamination and plastic pollution has potential effects that are still underexplored, and it is within this gap that the research project associated with this proposal is situated.Thus, considering the need to share information with different stakeholders - the scientific community itself; individuals involved in the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of public policies; and society at large - this activity plan aims specifically, in connection with the general objectives of the research project approved by FAPESP for Scientific Communication and in complement to other related JC scholarships, to optimize communication for social media platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, and X (formerly Twitter); as well as to feed a database to support the creation of the Observatory of Public Policies for Microplastics and Pesticides in Aquatic and Terrestrial Matrices.Specifically, this plan, scheduled for implementation during the second year (with the possibility of extension for another year) of the research project's execution, consists of: producing specific content for social media, based on the best available knowledge on Social Communication processes, Digital Marketing, Public Communication of Science, and the promotion of Scientific Culture; researching and populating the database for the future creation of the Observatory of Public Policies for Microplastics and Pesticides in Aquatic and Terrestrial Matrices; assisting in the development of Policy Paper models and other supporting documents for public agents; and supporting the production of general and especially audiovisual content for the project.
