Abstract his project aims to understand the reach of traditional narratives, when updated, in the reproduction of prejudices encapsulated in texts rooted in folklore. Such narratives will be treated as timeless phenomena, given that their texts have undergone minimal adaptive transformations. The collection of narratives will include medieval texts that have remained accessible, such as The Miracle of Theophilus or the Cantigas de Santa Maria, in which certain discourse objects occur, such as pacts with demons or demonic figures themselves, are present, extending to more recent forms, such as those found in Brazilian cinematography. The texts will be subjected to a sentence-level analysis as proposed by Labov and Waletsky (1967) and Labov (1997). Discourse objects, in line with Mondada (1995) and Mondada and Dubois (2003), common to these texts will be selected, and their intertextual and intermodal reproduction will be considered as interdiscursive progressions, interpreted in light of their intersection with current forms stemming from these progressions. The research findings will allow for an understanding of how certain social judgment parameters that had previously been abandoned have been revived by new trends, now reappearing especially on social media, but also through other forms of dissemination. | |
