Abstract

The advancement of digital technologies has brought new approaches to the management of digital credentials, enabling greater user control through decentralized identity infrastructures and digital wallets. This work aims to conduct a comparative analysis of open-source digital wallets, focusing on usability and technical quality, in order to identify improvement opportunities and contribute to the development of more efficient and accessible solutions. The research will be carried out through a survey of features, source code analysis, usability testing with real users, and evaluation of compliance with international standards. The methodology will involve both quantitative analyses, with data collection on performance and technical metrics, and qualitative ones through surveys and user feedback. In the end, guidelines and recommendations will be developed to optimize the studied solutions, providing insights for developers and policymakers regarding the implementation and adoption of open systems based on self-sovereign identities. The project will contribute to advancing the adoption of secure and efficient digital wallets aligned with decentralized identity standards.
