Abstract

This postdoctoral research aims to develop an intelligent and adaptive methodology for deploying smart IoT applications across the IoT computing continuum (IoTinuum), with a particular focus on precision agriculture. Building on the SMART project and the DATUM architecture, we will enhance our existing IoTManS and IoTManA models by introducing deployment-specific mechanisms, including triggering, mapping, migration, and lifecycle control. The approach will explore artificial intelligence techniques to automate decision-making and runtime adaptation based on contextual data, resource availability, and QoS constraints. The methodology will be validated through simulation and real-world testbeds integrated with open-source platforms and SMART project use cases.
