Abstract

Photocrosslinkable acrylate panthenol-based systems have demonstrated significant potential for use in 3D printing resins, specifically in techniques such as Digital Light Processing (DLP), Two-Photon Polymerization (2PP), and Volumetric Additive Manufacturing (VAM). This project intends the synthesis and characterization of polymers with tailor-made properties from various monomers. Panthenol citrate methacrylate (PCM) will be included given its antioxidant, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and pro-angiogenic properties. Additionally, 5-acrylamido-2,4,6-triiodoisophthalic acid (ATIPA) will be incorporated as a degradation monitoring probe, while 2-methylene-4-phenyl-1,3-dioxolane (MPDL) was added to ensure controlled biodegradability. Nitroxide-mediated polymerization (NMP) was chosen due to its ability to create well-defined polymer architectures without requiring air-free conditions or transition metal catalysts at higher scales.
