Abstract

In recent years, there has been growing interest in materials in which quantum effects manifest across a wide range of energies and length scales. These materials are known as quantum materials and include superconductors, graphene, topological insulators, Weyl semimetals, quantum spin liquids, and spin ices. We plan to study the permittivity and optical conductivity of these systems using terahertz time-domain spectroscopy in the presence of magnetic fields and at low temperatures. Specifically, our research will focus on the terahertz response of 2D topological insulators and crystalline topological insulators. (AU)
