Abstract This research aims to analyze the hotspots occurring in the Pantanal biome between 2010 and 2020, seeking to understand the dynamics of these events and their relationship with land use/vegetation cover, land ownership structures, and climatic conditions. Using remote sensing and cartography techniques, the project intends to characterize, map, and examine the areas affected by wildfires and fires. The goal is to identify patterns, trends, and temporal and spatial variability of hotspots associated with anthropogenic factors. Furthermore, the research seeks to understand how these practices are linked to land ownership structures. Through the analysis of hotspots obtained by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) sensor aboard the AQUA satellite, as well as precipitation data obtained from the Rainfall Estimates from Rain Gauge and Satellite Observations (CHIRPS) and meteorological stations, the study intends to provide information that can assist in the formulation of public policies and sustainable management strategies, aiming to mitigate the negative impacts of wildfires and fires and promote sustainable practices compatible with environmental preservation.
