Abstract

This project aims to advance methodologies to assess the impact of research on public policies and innovation funding programs, using artificial intelligence and data science. Conducted during a sabbatical at the School of Public Policy, Georgia Institute of Technology, the study will develop AI and data science-based methods to identify the influence of scientific output resulting from funded projects on policy documents, and to measure economic and social impacts of innovation support program. The research will analyze databases (Scopus, OpenAlex, Dimensions, Overton and BV/FAPESP), including bibliometric, altimetric and policy-related sources, focusing on research funded by FAPESP and innovation programs supported by EMBRAPII in Brazil.
