Abstract This project will be focused on obtaining aqueous dispersions of pyrolytic carbon materials using methods recently reported in the literature, which do not require surface passivation or surface modification. The resulting aqueous dispersions will be characterized by spectroscopic, electrochemical, and colloidal techniques. The properties of these systems will be correlated with the preparation protocol for the respective carbon materials and/or with the properties of the solid materials. The results will serve as a basis for proposing protocols for preparing aqueous dispersions of pyrolytic carbon materials with optimal colloidal properties, such as high mass concentration and colloidal stability. | |
