Abstract Ten pre-laying hens (approximately 100 days old) will receive intramuscular administration of the 24kDa excretory-secretory recombinant protein of Haemonchus contortus combined with an oil adjuvant. Each hen will receive 3-4 doses with 2-week intervals between injections.Systemic specific antibody titers (in serum) against the ES24 protein will be measured by ELISA one week after the last immunization. For this, it will be necessary to optimize ELISA assays for titering the antigen, serum, and conjugated secondary antibody. After obtaining high antibody titers, the eggs produced will be collected for the purification of IgY antibodies from the egg yolk, as well as IgA and IgM isotypes from the albumen. Finally, the antibodies purified using caprylic acid will be titered against the ES24 antigen by indirect ELISA and evaluated in passive immunotherapy of lambs | |
