Abstract

The project's ultimate goal is to critically evaluate the limitations of high-voltage submarine cables, rated at least 66 kV, subjected to dynamic service conditions. This phase's scope encompasses the study of three dielectric materials, initially focusing on their mechanical properties and their deterioration under service conditions. The plan involves extensive state-of-the-art research, addressing materials and properties, service conditions and failures, mechanical models representative of service conditions, and the collection of experimental data from representative cable samples to provide support for the development of a simplified structural model aimed at predicting the service life of these materials.
