Abstract

Environmental monitoring requires large-scale networks of low-power IoT devices tocontinuously collect and transmit data from forests, rivers, and urban areas. Ensuring thesecurity and efficiency of such systems is critical, especially with the advent of quantumcomputers threatening classical cryptography. This project aims to simulate classical IoTnetworks in Mininet and Mininet-WiFi and integrate post-quantum cryptography (PQC) toevaluate its impact on security, energy consumption, and communication performance. Thestudy also explores federated learning paradigms and integration with remote sensing datato address real-world scenarios such as deforestation, water quality, and air pollutionmonitoring (AU)
