Abstract

The Graduate Program in Sociology (PPGS) at Unicamp celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2024 and is directly linked to the development of Sociology in Brazil. The institutionalization of Social Sciences in Brazil, especially in the Rio-São Paulo route, was influenced by demands from the political system and the work of intellectuals, both brazilian and foreign. As a result, the production of knowledge in Sociology and Social Sciences is marked by its exponents, researchers, and professors who influenced the circulation of ideas and shaped the social place of intellectuals in higher education institutions. This project seeks to trace a narrative of "sociological practice" through two generations of professors from the program, using interviews in podcast format. The first generation consists of researchers who joined the Institute of Philosophy and Human Sciences (IFCH) as professors before 2004. The second generation consists of professors who defended their theses after the creation of the Doctorate in Sociology at PPGS in 2004 and who, for the most part, were advised by members of the first generation. The objective of this project is to analyze and present to the public the continuities and ruptures between these two generations. The methodological proposal of the podcast creation project aims to contribute to the appreciation of Sociology and the democratization of knowledge by recording the institutional memory of IFCH-Unicamp and the trajectories of researchers whose work and guidance help shape Sociology in the country.
