Abstract The fellow will monitor ongoing research under the theme "Development of New Solid Forms of Class II and IV Drugs," led by Dr. Cecilia Carolina Pinheiro da Silva and Prof. Dr. Javier Ellena. The objective of this project is to develop novel structural drug designs through the strategic use of supramolecular synthons to obtain new salts and/or drug-drug cocrystals capable of offering pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic improvements compared to their separately administered ingredients. Samples of new multicomponent solid forms under study during the internship will be characterized using the following techniques: single-crystal and powder X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared vibrational spectroscopy and Raman scattering, thermogravimetric analysis, and differential scanning calorimetry. | |
