Abstract

Cavity and Circuit Quantum Electrodynamics provide powerful platforms for controlling light-matter interactions at the single-quantum level, enabling a wide range of applications in second-generation quantum technologies, from quantum computing to high-precision sensing. A fundamental aspect of advancing this technology is a deep understanding of the interactions that govern these circuits. This project aims to investigate the dynamics of coupled superconducting qubits and resonators, focusing on a foundational understanding of their interactions and loss mechanisms. Building upon this foundational study, the project will pivot to a key application: developing advanced, resource-efficient protocols for Quantum State Tomography, a critical bottleneck in the field. Specifically, we will develop and analyze the Quantum Phase Estimation algorithm as a powerful tool for performing rapid and non-destructive quantum state characterization and engineering. This work will be developed at the QUINFOG group at IFF-CSIC, leveraging their world-class expertise in superconducting quantum circuits. (AU)
