Abstract

The present project proposed for the undergraduate studies of Marilia A. Trapp, has as the main goal the study of the extracts obtained from two fungi, Glomerella sp e Nigrospora sp, isolated as endophytes from Murraya paniculata. In previous work, these fungi were cultivated in large scale, using different medium. Preliminary assays against cancerous cell lines, as well as antibiosis, using fractions obtained from these extract by liquid-liquid partitioning, showed promising activities. The active substances present in these extracts will be isolated and identified. Optimization of the production of these substances, varying the medium composition and the time of cultivation, will be done using current analytical methodologies based on gas or liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry techniques (GCMS and LCMS).
