Abstract

In this project a morphologic analysis of the rind of the egg of the ostrich will be effected. This study it is important therefore diverse morphologic factors can be related with the hatchability of the egg of this species in Brazil, especially to consider our conditions of handling and incubation. For in such a way 60 apparently normal egg samples will be analyzed, of different origins, being: 30 come out eggs and 30 eggs with embryonic death. In these samples comments will be effected that allow to establish: the average weight of eggs, the average thickness of the rind of the egg in its diverse regions, the types of pores of the rind of these eggs, and to correlate these variable with the hatchability of eggs. The results will be statistical analyzed means of the test Chi-square.
