Abstract

Based on the theory of Jean Piaget concerning the development of the moral conscience, this research aims to investigate which are the most watched cartoons by the children and to analyze the social and moral contents presented in those cartoons trying to comprehend the possible influence that may exist in the moral development of a child. The field work will consist in the application of a questionnaire for 267 students of a city public school in Marília - SP, from the 1st to 5th grade of elementary school. Considering the obtained outcome with the application of this questionnaire the three cartoons which are most seen by the children will be selected and 10 episodes in a row of each cartoon will be recorded. Afterwards, the observation, the registration and the measurement of the social-moral behaviors presented in these episodes will be done by two analysts in order to identify the type of moral mostly observed in the behaviors. This tendency will be verified according to the frequency and percentage of those categories that presented aspects related to anomy, heteronomy or the moral autonomy.
