Abstract

We intend on this project to investigate the historiography of “nipo-prudentinos” industrial men and analyze the Japanese immigrant work trajectory, since his participation as settler on the coffee complex until his role on industrialization of the West Paulista. We’ll construct the identity and territory concerning these enterprising men through their socio-geographical representation. We’ll also rescue the history of industrialization at Presidente Prudente as consequence of local accumulation. The enterprises will be selected following these criterions: a) the beginning of activities since 1940; b) their founders being from Presidente Prudente; c) the magnitude of the capital. The enterprising man will be focused by his characteristics: life history and relations with development of new technologies. These aspects will be analyzed considering the behavior of Brazilian enterprising in face the structural and technological changings on Brazilian economy since the 1990’s, emphasizing the pattern of development of “nipo-prudentino” industrial men.
