Abstract Impurity transport in plasmas is an important topic in the development of magnetic fusion reactors. On the one hand, the presence of such particles is harmful because of fuel dilution and degradation of plasma facing-components. On the other hand, impurities can reduce the level of anomalous transport and facilitate the power exhaust from the plasma. The aim of this project is to give contributions to this matter. Based on theoretical models described by maps and fluid equations, we intend to provide a better understanding of the influence of chaotic advection and collisions mechanisms of impurities in the transport of particles in magnetized plasmas.
