Abstract Recent molecular methods have been being used to insert or modify some farm animals characteristics, however, the results are nor stable or efficient. Its use in a commercial and in a practical environment is, therefore, not viable. The association of genetic manipulation and nuclear transfer methods has the objective of increasing its efficiency. The low embrionary development after embryo and cell manipulation has several causes that are not well understood yet. A better understanding of molecular mechanisms involved with embryo development lost is needed, and studies are showing very important and informative. The objective of this study is to characterize the growing and replication of bovine fetal fibroblasts bearing the GFP gene at early and late passages. These cells will be used in the production of genetically modified animals, and it is expected that an increase in the efficiency of biotechniques is achieved, leading to benefits to basic research and biotechnology and also to practical and commercial purposes. The hypothesis of this study is that the gene transduction alters the physiology of cells cultured in vitro and also the cellular viability through passages at in vitro culture. | |
