Abstract

The ornamental plants have its importance little recognized by the research entities in the country taking to the shortage of technical information, eagerly sought by the potentials users. It also happens with the lawn, where some species are only used as soil covering. Among the several existent problems the fertilization before planting is of great importance for the closing speed, fixation of the gram in the soil and subsequent growth and the covering fetilization in order to maintain the lawn in good nutritional conditions. The gram-emerald, original from Japan is a grass herbaceous, perennial and very ramified. One of the advantages of the use of this grass is the formation of a beautiful rug, penetrating and rooting easily, with the leaves. It presents great beauty and soft and resistant leaves to the trampling, being the most versatile of the grams. The fertilizers are essentials to the formation and maintenance of the lawn. The absence of fertilizers turns the rickety lawn, the excess it can favor the diseases and curses or to burn it chemically. To avoid it should be regulated, mainly, the application of the fertilizer, calculating the amount of nitrogen that is being supplied to the soil. The present research project has as objective to evaluate the influence of the fertilization for lawn formed with Zoysia japonica Steud. (gram-emerald) in a Red Argissol, in Ilha Solteira - SP (Northwest From São Paulo). Para that a randomized block design with 20 treatments and four repetitions, being 15 m2 for portion will be used. The treatments will be constituted by 5 sources of N: urea, coated urea for polymeric, entec - sulfonitrate of ammonium + nitrification inhibitor, ammonium nitrate and ammonium sulfate; applied in the dose of 10 g m-2 year-1, parceled out in 5 applications. These treatments will make a factorial one with two phosphorous doses, 3 and 10 g m-2 year-1 and of potassium also with 3 and 10 g m-2 year-1, for being these had as minimum and maximum doses, mentioned in the literature. The following evaluations will be accomplished: chemical analysis of the soil, height of the gram, content of chlorophyll in the leaves, dry mass of the leaves, leaf analysis and content of lignin of the leaves.
