Abstract

The corn crop is among the one of higher productivity potential, although in Brazil this potential is below the productivity of this crop. The common bean is the principal food presents in the diet of the Brazilian population, excellent source of protein. For the obtaining of high productivities and viable economically, the adopted mineral nutrition is one of the essential factors for success, in consequence of appropriate practices of fertilization, as potassium, once it is the element more demanded by those crops. The study aims to study doses and sources of potassium, potassium chloride and coated potassium chloride, in the production components and productivity of the corn and common bean crops. The experiment is being led in experimental area belonging to University of Engineering of Ilha Solteira - UNESP, located in Selvíria - MS, in a Red Latosol, loamy texture. A randomized blocks design with 8 treatments and 4 repetitions is being used. The treatments consist of 4 doses of K2O: 0, 40, 80 and 120 kg ha-1, applied at sowing, in two sources: potassium chloride and coated potassium chloride for polymers. It will be appraised in the corn crop: K content in the leaf, height of plant, height of insert of corn ear, diameter of the stem, number of grains for row of corn ear and number of rows for corn ear, mass of 100 grains and the productivity of grains. In the crop of common bean: K content in the leaf, number of pods for plant, number of grains for plant, mass of 100 grains and productivity of grains. (AU)
